GOLFING LISTS provides a comprehensive list of records relating to all aspects of the game of golf. One probem with lists is, you never know when starting to compile a list, just how long it will be. We have used a guideline of the leading 10 entries per list but that does vary from list-to-list.

Before you do that, a couple of things you may notice while trawling through the site which we will address here. (1) The British Golfers Harry Vardon and Ted Ray were born in Jersey and that is shown as being their "Country" throughout this site. We are aware that Jersey is not a country but a British Crown Dependency. However, for the purpose of this site - it is a country. And (2), we refer to The Open Championship as the British Open. We acknowledge its full and correct title but, as it is widely called the British Open, we have opted to call it that - furthermore, it is easier to type
