Sergio García was one of seven men making their Ryder Cup debut for Europe at Brookline, Massachusetts, in 1999. The Spaniard partnered Jesper Parnevik in the morning foursomes on the opening day, and they beat Tom Lehman and Tiger Woods. In the afternoon García and Parnevik beat Phil Mickelson and Jim Furyk before another win and a half on day two to make it a memorable debut for García.
