The biggest victory in the fourballs was in 1981 when Lee Trevino and Jerry Pate (USA) beat Nick Faldo and Sam Torrane (Europe) 7 & 5.

Ludvig Åberg & Viktor Hovland’s victory in 2023 was the biggest in an 18-hole match.

The George Duncan-Walter Hagen singles match (above) was between the two rival captains in the first Ryder Cup on UK soil at Moortown, Leeds, in 1929.
