At the 1955 Texas Open Mike Souchak became the first man to card a 4-round total of 257 when he broke Byron Nelson’s 10-year record of 259. Souchak would hold the record for 46 years 342 days until Mark Calcavecchia won the 2001 Phoenix Open with a score of 256.
Hideki Matsuyama’s 257 at The Sentry tournament in 2025 was made up of four rounds of 65-65-62-65. His 35-under par is a PGA Tour record. |
